Our Coaching Book

Our text, Coaching Colleagues and Families in Early Childhood Intervention, written in 2004 with our colleague, Barbara Hanft, OTR, provides detailed descriptions of the coaching process and how to coach families and colleagues. Each chapter includes scenarios of example coaching situation. The appendix contains coaching tools useful for planning and documenting coaching interactions.

Welcome to Coaching in Early Childhood!

The purpose of this website is to provide information and resources related to how to use evidence-based practices to provide supports to families within the context of their natural learning environments.

This website is designed for therapists and educators working in early intervention and early childhood and preschool programs as well as parents of children from birth to five years of age.

Coaching in Early Childhood is affiliated with the Center for Dissemination and Utilization at the Orelena Hawks Puckett Institute. The focus of this initiative is to investigate the characteristics and utilization of coaching to promote the adoption, use of, and adherence to evidence-based natural learning environment practices for children from birth to age five and their families.
